A look inside a solar farm in the Philippines, specifically in Cagayan de Oro, owned by CEPALCO and operated by MINERGY.
This solar power station launched in 2004 as the biggest in the Philippines, with an estimated peak output of around 1 megawatt or 1000 kW.
There are now larger solar power stations being operated by CEPALCO and other companies in the Philippines.
CEPALCO stands for Cagayan Electric Power and Light Company, the equivalent in Manila would be MERALCO.
Inside the solar farm you’ll find over 6000 polycrystalline panels which can produce enough power for up to 900 homes. You’ll also notice some additional panels and a single-axis tracking system which is being tested by the Renewable Energy Test Center (RETC).
