Hand crank generator – 3D Printed

This is the first prototype of my 3D printed hand crank generator.

It uses a DC motor from a broken printer which is spun quickly as a result of the gear ratio. Everything is 3D printed, although I’m using threaded metal bolts during this early prototyping stage.

In this video I crank the generator to power a 12V LED strip and then a small 1W LED with a small capacitor attached.

The gears and base are both 3D printed on a Flashforge Creator Pro using ABS plastic. The design is being made in Sketchup.
